Building Materials Resource Center presents: Second Annual Re-Use Arts Competition and Show

Month of May: an overwhelming response to the Boston Building Materials Art show with over 20 artists showing functional work made from reused building materials.

This show is a fund raiser for the non-profit Building Materials Resource Center of Mission Hill.

Durable, functional pieces, such as chairs, coat/hat racks, framed mirrors, dog houses, light fixtures, cabinets, bookshelves, wardrobes and tables - made primarily from used building materials.

The top three entrants will have the opportunity to create window installations in Boston Art Windows, a joint project of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the City of Boston, and the Boston Redevelopment Authority. More information is available at cityofboston.gov. The winners will also receive gift certificates from Peet's Coffee, Staples, and others. The top entry will have the opportunity to display and sell their art in the Mission Hill Festival of Fire on September 30.
